Academic Intervention and Enrichment Classes
Academic Intervention (AI) classes are for students who need assistance in math and language arts beyond the regular school day. Classes are taught using multiple teaching strategies that appeal to students' various learning styles and abilities. Typically, classes are held for the first hour immediately after school, three days per week.
For Enrichment classes, an open invitation is sent to students by grade level to complete an application of interest to join an afterschool enrichment class. If a student enrolls in our school after classes are formed, the new student has an opportunity to apply to join an enrichment class. All applications are reviewed by school administration and do their best to place students in their first-choice class, with the understanding that s/he may not get s/he’s first choice. We do have class size limits for each class. After class lists are made, students will be notified by receiving a parent permission form. Typically, classes are held for the first hour and a half immediately after school, two days per week.
Multiple sessions are offered throughout the school year. There is no fee for AI and Enrichment classes. Parents, please talk to your child's teacher if you would like your child to participate in Academic Intervention and keep an eye out for Enrichment class applications in your child's backpack.
