Gifted and Talented Education
GATE classes are for identified students in the 4th through 8th grades to increase their knowledge above and beyond the state-adopted standards and curriculum. Classes are taught using multiple teaching strategies that appeal to students' various learning styles and abilities. Students are identified and tested by school and district-level staff, using the Naglieri Nonverbal Abilities Test (NNAT). Students who score at the Stanine 7 or 70% are admitted to the GATE program. GATE testing occurs in October.
Gifted and Talented Education (GATE) classes are held after school, and there is no fee for GATE classes for identified students.
